@01:13You may be right. I wanted to go in slow, a sort of lull before the storm, but I realize I test people's patience. But I hope after peeling the rind, the fruit is sweet. ; ) Check out CRUTCH 2001 for over all fast pace [link]

@04:05You might be talking about RJD2's latest vid "Work it out" [link] He does some great solo work there.

This represents a 10 minute glimpse into the world of CRUTCH, an indie documentary by Sachi Cunningham and Chandler Evans. See [link] for more.

In what has become a 7 year odyssey, the filmmakers have followed Bill Shannon, aka "Crutchmaster," across the US and around the globe to record the story of his ascension from an obscure street artist to an internationally acclaimed performer and choreographer. Now with over 200 hours of original footage, the Filmmakers have begun to unravel a complex narrative about an ambiguously disabled, multi-displinary artist who defies both definition and gravity. Due out in Festivals this Spring.

Shot mostly on a Panasonic DVX100a, and edited on FCP.

Directed by Sachi Cunningham and Chandler Evans

Edited by M'Daya Meliani and Chandler Evans

Music by (in order of appearance) Milosh "I'm Trying," Poets of Rhythm "The Jaunt," The High and Mighty "B-boy Document," RJD2 "1976," Culver City Dub Collective "The Count," Company Flow "Gigapet Epiphany," Junip "Turn to the Assassin"

Old school breaking footage from "BREAKIN'" 1984

Big shot out to Johnny Bachelier and the folks @ King Cut!

@10:40I absolutely adore him. The first time I saw him was that Visa TV ad a few years ago. I was like "oh, nice faker" and then forgot about it. But the image had totally stuck in my head, so when I googled this guy a few months later I was shocked that he actually WAS disabled. I got so excited that I told all my schoolmates about it, forcing them to watch the ad and stuff. Last month I decided to do some more research on his work. I've found the RJD2's music video that Bill was featured in, I've totally raped the replay buttons on almost all of the videos of his performances! And I laughed my ass off while watching his speech at PopTech2007. As a wheelchair user I started treating him as my personal hero. Then I realized that this is not what Bill wants to be loved for. I quickly understood that he's not a part of the "cream of cripples". Nothing should make the media focus on his disability. No, Bill isn't awesome because he does impossible things. No, he is not awesome because he's happy with his disorder. His dancing is what makes him awesome, and crutches are just a part of him that dances too. He helped me understand that striving for ability is the best way of accepting the disability. When you meet him, tell him that watching these vids make me happy. : )
